Chapter Two: Sneaks and Creeps Page Ten3, July 1999 Saturday The doctor's eyes narrowed at the slight, her opinion of the abrasive officer dropping even further. They'd never actually
spoken before now, but he was always in the infirmary. She'd been assured by the nurses he was only in there because he was being checked to ensure his injuries were healing properly and that
he'd be gone before she knew it. However, from the lab assistants, she'd heard chatter about how often he was injured and so consequently was hardly impressed. His attitude and manner were
inconsistent from one moment to the next and that always rattled her, just watching him. Now, they had finally addressed each other, and it was completely anti-climactic. Amber put the
papers down, aware now she hadn't read any of them for the last nine minutes. That…man, had occupied her mind for nine minutes. Unacceptable. She looked around her for something that
